My Day in Asheville, NC
The beautiful town of Asheville, NC, is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. The local chamber of commerce has information that is invaluable to visitors, especially if you’ve never been to the area before. While in town, I enjoyed the amazing views of the mountains and also had a wonderful visit to Biltmore Estate, one of Asheville’s most popular destinations.
Biltmore Estate is a large private home that was completed in 1895. This beautiful home is wonderful during any time of year but can be especially beautiful during spring. When I visited in late spring the flowers were in bloom and everything was coming to life. Walking through the many garden spaces on the estate grounds was almost like being in my own world. Strolling through the rose garden, which has around 250 varieties of roses, was one of my favorite parts of my visit.
The inside of the Biltmore home is even more delightful than the gardens. During my self-guided tour I was able to walk through many of the rooms that George and Edith Vanderbilt lived in during their lifetime. The home has original artwork and beautiful decorations throughout. I enjoyed the swimming pool and gymnasium which I thought were interesting additions to this amazing house based on the time in which it was built.
